In the initial results of the 2008 Research Assessment Exercise (published 18 December), all of our research was assessed as being "Internationally Recognised" and 85% as "Internationally Excellent" or "World Leading".

The Department is currently the most successful in the UK in overall student satisfaction, according to the National Student Satisfaction Survey 2008.
