Our Students' Charter is agreed between senior University staff and the Union of Students annually. The Charter serves as an important reminder of the diversity of the Sheffield community and of the kinds of issues that can make life difficult for neighbours.

It requires students to behave responsibly in the community, in particular stressing the need for students "to respect their neighbours, to learn acceptable behaviour and help promote good community relations."

These messages are reinforced to students in a number of ways on an ongoing basis during the academic year, including by email, on websites and in publications.
